Minecraft Forge Mods

The usual kitchen-sink loader. Official Forge jars still ship for these guides.

Minecraft Forge is the loader most older kitchen-sink packs still install first. The game client or server is patched by the Forge installer; then official mod jars go in the mods folder. A Forge instance will not load a Fabric jar, and a Fabric instance will not load these official Create, Tinkers, Mekanism, or Alex Mobs files.

Use Forge when the author still publishes a Forge jar, or when the pack is built on that loader. Do not mix a Fabric Sodium stack with a Forge Create jar. They do not share a mods folder.
